I’m over halfway done with the 52 hike challenge. It’s been interesting to see how it evolves. Occasionally I go for a week without measurable distance. Then there’s a fit of many hikes in a short period. Some hikes are barely a mile, other stretch my limits. Hike 27 was at Lion’s Den Gorge overlooking Lake Michigan. img_3294

I was lucky enough to have Elliot with me on this hike. It was a misty 2 miles and a nice staired descent to the lake. I’ve been working on wrapping instead of using a carrier, so I used Christina’s Ruckless on this hike. I enjoyed it, but I think an SSC is my preferred for right now.img_3299

Ignore the hair 😉 img_3295This Trail was really nice and flat.

The fall colors had finally started to come in. The boys loved playing with the smooth rocks down by the shore. We found marble, quartz, and sandstone.

Total Mileage: 52

Blue Sky
though seldom seen
Is all of summer
Waiting that up high
To break down upon us
In a glory of months
